As part of this year's Move in May the Friends of St Boniface will invite all school children to take part in a socially distanced Relay Race on Sunday 16th May. The idea is that each child runs to the next child’s house, accompanied by an adult, as their part in the relay race. To include all ages the child can run, walk, bike or scoot. We are hoping that the route will cover a good distance and then it multiplied by parents, teachers and staff running the entire route so we can say ‘St Boniface School runs 100km’ or similar, something to really shout about in the community.
St Boniface RC Primary school in Tooting is an ethnically diverse, Ofstead 'Outstanding' Primary school, a 'happy place to work and learn’. Our large catchment area spans a range of neighbourhoods including SW16, SW17, SW19 and CR4. Our Parentmail messages reach just under 400 parents, the FoSB Facebook community has 322 followers and our Posts usually reach around 700. This event will be heavily promoted to parents, our St Boniface school and parish community and on social media and school website.
The FoSB usually raise funds through holding events for the children like discos, movie, bingo & quiz nights, coffee mornings and fayres, however the Covid-19 pandemic has led to the cancellation of all of the events for spring and summer terms, including the summer fayre which is usually our biggest fundraiser. Sponsoring the St Boniface Relay Race will raise much needed funds for the school as well as encouraging our children to keep healthy and fit! Every single penny raised will be spent to enhance the school life for the children of St Boniface Primary School.
We hope you will be able to support our wonderful school in some way and I look forward to hearing from you.
